# Scaling CRO

## Description

The Scaling CRO is finding positive sales traction by hitting their sales targets (if not exceeding them) and/or leading growth following a sizable new fundraising round, which allows them to add new reps, new team segments, or new territories. As a result, they want every new hire to be ramped, confident, and effective as fast as possible. Their biggest risk isn't a single bad quarter; it's that a rapidly expanding team dilutes the story or generates inconsistency in the market, with new hires improvising their own version of the pitch without having the evidence about what actually works. They want a proven storytelling playbook to onboard against — grounded in what their best performers actually say and do, not a static slide deck nobody revisits after week one — so ramp time shrinks and the whole team is executing a more-winning story from day one.

Defining Characteristics:
- Reducing new-rep ramp time by onboarding against a proven, evidence-based messaging playbook rather than static training decks
- Improving quota attainment across more reps, by codifying what the top performers say in calls, demos, and emails so it can be systematically taught to the rest of the team
- Monitoring message consistency and adoption as the team scales, especially across new segments, territories, or hires, to reduce market positioning and competitor confusion
- Catching narrative drift before an entire new cohort of reps reinforces the wrong story
- Giving sales enablement and coaching leads specific, deal-stage-level evidence to target training investment
- Ensuring sales investments and allocations are maximized for ROI by optimizing story and messaging for revenue outcomes, including: CAC, account value, EBITDA, and other critical financial metrics
- Works at a U.S.-headquartered B2B growth-stage software/tech company (100–2,000 employees, $30M–$200M ARR or Series B–E) with an established but scaling revenue organization
